2018 Holiday Charity - Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach

This year’s holiday charity, Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach, offers free daytime programs and services to refugees from many countries including a large group from Myanmar (Burma) and a number from Nepal and Somalia (climates and cultures so unlike ours and so far away). They can learn English, learn Job skills, receive food or clothing, get referrals for housing, etc.

Although Mary’s Place has a small staff, it relies heavily on volunteers, a number of which were once Mary’s Place attendees.

They always need washable socks for children from toddlers to teenagers, male and female, in cottons or blends, or fuzzy warm ones, etc.

You can bring the socks to any Library or Fire Hall meeting up to and including our December 4 business meeting when a Mary’s Place rep will come to collect our donation. December 4 will be here before we know it!

Let’s try and outdo last year’s fabulous donation to the House of Mercy. Thanks for your help!
